Do I need a referral from a GP?

Referrals from GP or a specialist doctor is not required to make a physiotherapy appointment. The physiotherapists are able to assess your requirements, and if deemed necessary will liaise with your GP or Specialist.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Please make sure your clothing is comfortable, and not too restricting of movement. It is appreciated if labourers clothing and footwear is not muddy or soiled.

What should I bring to my appointment?

If you have recent X-rays or MRI scans and reports of your presenting condition, please bring these with you. If you have been wearing a splint, or support glove or brace, then please bring this with you also. If you have Workers Compensation claim number, DVA card, or an EPC then bring these along as well.

When do I need to pay for my treatment?

All payments are made at the end of each treatment. Please ensure you have a means of payment with you. We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa/Mastercard and American Express. Also through the Hicaps system we can accept most Private Health Insurance cards. Only Workers Compensation, once approved, and DVA patients will not need to pay at the time of treatment.

Are splints or other products included in my treatment costs?

Unfortunately with the vast variance in splints or other products required, treatment pricing does not include pricing for other products that maybe required. Your physio will let you know the costing of any extra required products prior to the end of your consultation.

Will Medicare pay for any of my treatment?

Generally Physiotherapy is not included under the Medicare scheme. The only exception is if you are having treatment under an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) which allows 5 treatments per annum with all Allied Health professionals. This scheme is totally managed by your GP.
